About INTERSTOP
INTERSTOP (Austria) was founded in 1966. The main task of the new company was to develop and sell a nozzle system with a shutter for precise control of the flow of molten metal from the ladle to the intermediate filling device. The concept was based on a patent granted to David D. Lewis in 1885. The patent has been revived and improved in accordance with the current needs of the steel industry. The first system of injectors with sliders on the market was the INTERSTOP BK technology. In addition to the mechanical valve system, INTERSTOP has developed and manufactured the appropriate ceramics for the slide gate. Thanks to huge progress in safety, economy and system management, by 2000 the 2000th INTERSTOP shut-off valve mounted on a steel casting bucket was launched.
