INTERSTOP (Austria) was founded in 1966. The main task of the new company was to develop and sell a nozzle system with a shutter for precise control of the flow of molten metal from the ladle to the intermediate filling device. The concept was based on a patent granted to David D. Lewis in 1885. The patent has been revived and improved in accordance with the current needs of the steel industry.
